What could research, movement itself and documentation on and of movement within landscape look like, in order not to reproduce patterns of dualistic and hierarchical powerstructures?
Round:Motion is an interdisciplinary long term project initiated by the artist Katharina Kneip. It reflects on hierarchies, particularly the reality of feminism and gender equality within the context of outdoor adventures as well as bodily movement in the context of nature. It seeks to create a language of its own and become process itself rather than just existing as a mere reaction.
While existing systems of mostly male-dominated documentations, structures of heroic and dramatic reports, romantic nature descriptions etc. will be included in the overall considerations, Round:Motion aims at an expansion of a system, at breaking open conventional structures, question documentation processes, and providing access to information and thought processes. Round:Motion consists of interconnected parts: Forum:Round:Motion, Round:Motion:Tour and Clouding:Round:Motion.Wie könnten sich Recherche, Bewegung selbst und Dokumentation von und über Bewegung in Landschaft entwickeln, ohne Muster dualistischer und hierarchischer Machtstrukturen zu reproduzieren?
Round:Motion ist ein interdisziplinäres Langzeitprojekt der Künstlerin Katharina Kneip. Es beschäftigt sich mit Hierarchien, insbesondere im Bereich des Feminismus und gender equality im Kontext von Outdoorabenteuern und körperlicher Bewegung in der Natur. Round:Motion möchte eine eigene Sprache schaffen, selbst aktiver Prozess sein denn bloße Reaktion. Die bestehenden Systeme, geprägt durch häufig männlich*-dominierte Dokumentationen, Strukturen heroischer Berichte, romantischer Naturbeschreibungen usw. sollen Teil der Gesamtbetrachtung werden, da Round:Motion eine Erweiterung des Systems anstrebt, konventionelle Strukturen öffnet, Dokumentationsprozesse hinterfragt und dabei Informationen und Gedankenprozessen zugänglich machen möchte. Round:Motion besteht aus den vernetzten Teilen Forum:Round:Motion, Round:Motion:Tour und dem Clouding:Round:Motion.

Он отражает актуальные вопросыиерархии, особенно ярко – в контексте одиночного путешествияхудожницы во воде и суше, полного приключений и телеснойактивности в дикой природной среде. Round:Motion ставит целью создание нового языка, чтобы стать саморазвивающимся новым процессом,а не просточастным высказыванием. Существующая система документирования, сформирована преимущественно мужской культурой, и несет готовые структуры героических и драматических репортажей, романтических описаний природы и т.д.Пусть все этобудет лишь частью чего-то большего! WHO IS WALKING?
name: Katharina Kneip – artist coming from Germany – based in Round:Motion
After studying Fine Arts in Münster and Vienna, creating sculptures and performances, videos, sound installations… drawing and exhibiting, I developed a more bodily and less material based approach to experience and question discomfort, situations that are unforeseeable due to time, natural elements and physical challenges.
Outer space and landscape developed from being ascribed a passive role to being considered and experienced as an active element.
I like to communicate, exchange and meet new people while several aspects of northern regions fascinate me. The climate and its changes, the huge distances that can be somehow travelled by land while meeting tradition, history and new developments are some of the reasons.
These regions have been and are destination of journeys for the most different reasons; their nature, remoteness and bureaucracy are challenging….

Name: Katharina Kneip – Künstlerin aus Deutschland – aktuell in Round:Motion
Im Laufe meines Studiums der Freien Kunst in Münster und Wien, durch viele Skulpturen, Performances, Videoarbeiten, Soundinstallationen, … Zeichnungen und Ausstellungen entwickelte ich eine körperlichere und weniger materialbasierte Herangehensweise, um ein gewisses Unbehagen, auf Grund ihrer Dauer unvorhersehbare Situationen, Naturelemente und körperliche Herausforderungen zu erfahren und in Frage zu stellen.
Kommunikation und Austausch, neue Menschen kennen lernen sowie verschiedene Aspekte nördlicher Regionen faszinieren mich. Der Wechsel des Klimas, unglaublich große Distanzen, die größtenteils auf dem Landweg zurückgelegt werden können, die Verbindung von Tradition, Geschichte und neusten Entwicklungen, sind ein Teil meiner Motivation. Aus unterschiedlichsten Gründen sind und waren diese Regionen schon lange Reiseziel für viele Menschen. Die Natur, ihre Abgelegenheit, aber auch die Bürokratie bleiben eine Herausforderung…

Свою учёбу на факультете СвободныхИскусств я начала с таких направлений как скульптура, графика, перформанс, а также с работы с видеозвуковымиинсталляциями.
Со временем мой интерес большетрансформировался в сторону более физического и менее материального подхода: преодоление переживаний, связанных с дискомфортом, возникающим при мысли о продолжительности похода, о непредвиденных обстоятельствах, непредсказуемых ситуаций и телесныхнагрузках. Мне очень нравится знакомиться слюдьми и общение с ними. Разнообразие климата северных регионов, невероятно огромные дистанции и возможность их преодоления по суше, а также связь между традициями, историей и новейшими проявлениямивдохновляют меня на этот поход. По разным причинам эти северныерегионы были, есть и будут целью путешествий длямногих людей. Природа, удалённость от цивилизации, а также бюрократия будут создавать затруднения на моём пути…
